12 Reasons The Star Wars Sequels Aren't As Bad As You Think

7. The Dialogue Is Stronger Than In The Earlier Films

Dialogue-wise, the Sequel Trilogy was actually very good. Say what you will about the plot - there is a lot to say and not all of it is good - but even in moments where the plotting was iffy the dialogue between characters usually remained strong.

This was particularly important in Rise of Skywalker since, although the pacing was rushed and the plot was flawed, the generally strong dialogue sold the emotions of the story and still made it a coherent and uplifting movie.

Some of the comedy in Last Jedi didn't work too well, but other than that all of the writers in this trilogy did fine work with the dialogue scenes and, honestly, the Sequels actually did the dialogue better than the earlier trilogies.

The Original Trilogy does have a few clunky lines (most of them spoken by Luke) and the dialogue throughout the Prequels is awful, so the fact that this trilogy didn't have many problems in this area was a huge relief.
