Titanic is the story about Rose overcoming her fear of entrapment and her life being controlled by someone else, mainly her mother and her finance Caledon. Jack gives Rose the confidence and bravery to escape and by the end of the film, Rose is finally free and gives herself a new identity and a new life where she can be true to herself.

This only enhances Jack’s sacrifice to give Rose everything she could ever want, he cared for her and only her and wanted her to live on even if it means letting himself freeze to death. Though it is still a controversial sacrifice and plenty still debate whether or not it could be avoided, its impact in the moment is no less significant.
