12. Will Dies In Caesars Arms - Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes
Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes turned out far better than what everyone expected it to be, especially in reference to the on-screen relationship between Dr. Will Rodman (James Franco) and Caesar (Andy Serkis), which was surprisingly one of the film's highlights. But while their final bittersweet goodbye was a nice finish, the film was originally going to have Will and Caesar part on a far more depressing note. Instead of exchanging a tear-jerking farewell, Rodman ends up taking a stray bullet for Caesar before dying in his beloved chimp's arms. This original ending was actually filmed and intended to be used until the studio suddenly changed its mind at the last minute; with the unfinished footage looking great and the potential for the film to set up a franchise cash cow, they realised it would be better if Will wound up surviving long enough to be in the sequel. With the benefit of hindsight, the studio probably shouldn't have bothered wasting money on this new ending - Franco didn't end up coming back for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes and Rodman was shuffled off this mortal coil unceremoniously off-screen.

My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem.
Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh.
