6. Star Trek: The First Adventure - Cadets In Space
A series set in Starfleet Academy has been rumoured on more than one occasion, both in film and on the small screen. When talk began of a new Star Trek TV series - after the success of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home - Paramount proposed a show where cadets ran the USS Enterprise. Gene Roddenberry was against this, Star Trek: The Next Generation was born and the rest is history. A few years later, plans for a cadets film emerged with the sixth film touted as a prequel to the original series. The film would have begun with an old McCoy telling the story of how Kirk, Spock, Scotty and himself became friends at Starfleet Academy while they were still cadets. William Shatner and the rest of the cast hated it; instead we got Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, a perfect film to celebrate Star Trek's 25th anniversary and give the crew the fitting send off they deserved.
