12 Things Warner Bros Want You To Forget About Batman Movies
2. The Joker Dances To Prince (Batman)
An embarrassing scene for all involved, the most pointless sequence in the 1989 Batman sees The Joker and his cronies vandalising the Gotham Museum of Art, all while a Prince song doesn't just play out as backing music, but is diegetically in the scene, with one of the henchmen holding a large boombox on his shoulder. Enough said, really. Why Warner Want You To Forget Because it's possibly the worst cinematic Joker moment ever, and considering how much money there potentially is in the Clown Prince of Crime as a marketing commodity, it's best that he's thought of most as vicious rather than, well, a joke. Even Tim Burton himself has admitted that the scene was a mistake, and so he best wants to forget it, too. Nicholson probably loved it, but it's best to keep this one muted and distinctly a product of its time. If Jared Leto starts mincing around and singing in Suicide Squad, we riot.
