12 Things You Learn Rewatching Die Another Day

7. The Madonna Cameo Is Embarrassingly Awful

Something that's become only more cringe-worthy with time, however, is Madonna's ill-advised cameo as Verity, a fencing instructor who introduces Bond to Gustav Graves (Toby Stephens) and Miranda Frost (Rosamund Pike).

Things begin badly as Verity and 007 trade mouldy innuendos ("I see you handle your weapon well" / "I've been known to keep my tip up"), and only get worse as she dumps exposition in Bond's lap. Basically, she spends far too long on-screen relative to her fame, and it counts double as she also performed the movie's theme song.

It's hard to pay attention to what's actually going on in the scene, and quite rightly, Madge scooped a Worst Supporting Actress Razzie awards for her performance, if you can even call it that.
