The end credits roll as we linger on the haunting visual of the gunshot-riddled windshield of Bond's car, all while John Barry's soft, understated musical score begins to fade out.

However, barely a second of silence passes before the booming, iconic signature Bond theme blares out over the rest of the credits. The bombastic, upbeat intensity of the tune clashes harshly with the downbeat ending, especially when a simple, dignified silence would've been a far more affecting way to play the movie out.

They're never going to change this in future releases, of course, but at least you can easily mute the movie yourself at this juncture.
