12 Things You Learn Rewatching Quantum Of Solace

3. The Final Battle Is Actually Pretty Great

Say what you want about this film, but the final showdown at the eco hotel is actually pretty damn spectacular.

Marc Forster smartly cross-cuts between Bond battling Greene and Camille taking on General Medrano (Joaquín Cosío), and though the fights unfold while the hotel is exploding around them, there's still an agreeably simple, stripped-down quality to the brawling.

Sure, Amalric struggles to look competitive opposite Craig, but the raging fire and shattering glass presents a gnarly added danger, and is visually gorgeous to boot.

Looking back, it's a shame this electric final fight wasn't surrounded by a better movie, because it clearly deserved a far stronger build-up.
