12 Upcoming Movies Nerds Should Be Most Thankful For
11. Suicide Squad
Release Date: August 5th 2016 Good villains are often a lot more memorable than good heroes in the long-term: they're richer, more complex and the best ones make us all question our own moral integrity. So by casting about 280 of them in Suicide Squad, Warner Bros are spreading their bets that they'll score a success with the dark comic take on the Dirty Dozen. It isnt entirely confirmed that Ben Afflecks stand-alone will be coming in 2019, but there are some big suggestions that the plot will owe a lot to the iconic Under The Red Hood. Hopefully that will all be seeded by this movie in between all the cannon fodder villains being killed off. Why Should You Be Thankful? If nothing else, it's the first opportunity to see Jared Letos Joker in full swing, and that whole Hannibal Lecter spin is hugely enticing, even if seeing him out of chains is a more exciting future prospect. Likewise seeing more of Affleck's Batman in his own environment is a big plus, as well - inevitably - as the draw of Margot Robbie's delightfully unhinged Harley Quinn. And don't be surprised if Will Smith swoops in to steal the heart of the movie alongside all the pantomime figures with a more human take on Deadshot.
