12 Ways Comic Book Movies Totally Ripped Each Other Off
9. Casting Jon Favreau As An Assistant
Favreau's association with the genre will largely be remembered as his directorial role in shaping Iron Man (and trying his best to derail Iron Man 2) and his on-screen representation as the most comically out of shape body guard ever, in Happy Hogan, but it goes beyond those two roles.
Long before he's grown into Happy's considerable frame - and even before he was added to Daredevil as comic relief (and another quasi-assistant role) in the shape of Foggy Nelson - Favreau was in a DC movie, making him one of the most cast actors in comic book movie history (not counting actors playing the same roles).
In the occasionally brilliant Batman Forever, Favreau pops up in the background of the scene in which Bruce Wayne meets Edward Nygma, strutting with an oddly confident gait for a man listed merely as Assistant in the credits.
