13 Actors Who Could Be The Breakout Stars Of 2019

1. Ferdia Shaw

Eoin Colfer's beloved fantasy novel has had a film adaptation in the works almost ever since its 2001 release, and nearly two decades later, it's finally happening with the ever-reliable Kenneth Branagh in the director's chair.

Playing young protagonist Artemis Fowl II is Ferdia Shaw, an unknown Irish actor who has zero prior acting credits to his name.

It's certainly a risky prospect, and the trailer doesn't give much of a suggestion of Shaw's natural acting chops, but given Branagh's experience as an actor's director, it's easy to be fairly confident with his choice.

If the movie succeeds at the box office, Disney is sure to proceed with adapting the other seven books in the series, keeping Shaw gainfully employed for the foreseeable future.

If he's lucky enough to enjoy this level of success, though, hopefully he pulls a Daniel Radcliffe and starts starring in farting corpse movies once he's done with Artemis Fowl. There just aren't enough of them in the world.
