13 Awesome Actresses Who Need To Play Bond Girls

5. Penelope Cruz

Why It Could Happen: This pick is so hilariously obvious it's a major surprise it hasn't already happened: the 41-year-old stunner is exotically gorgeous, a killer actress capable of playing villains and heroes equally capably, and has been frequently rumoured to be in the running for various Bond movies over the last decade. Whether a supporting femme fatale or something closer to the forefront, she'd be a major credit to any Bond film. Why It Might Not: Perhaps there's an underlying reason we're not aware of as to why she wasn't picked two years ago when the rumours really heated up, perhaps a chemistry-related issue with Daniel Craig or something else. Plus, Cruz's career has slowed down over the last few years as she's had two children with Javier Bardem (Raoul Silva himself!), so she seems to be gravitating more towards art-house flicks, small supporting roles and cameos which are less taxing schedule-wise. Filming a Bond flick naturally takes time, even for a small, Bellucci-esque appearance. How Likely Is It?: She'd nail it without question, but it's sad to say her time for this kind of part has probably passed, though the filmmakers would be lucky to have her. 4/10
