9. Bryan Singer WILL Release The Rogue Cut Of Days Of Future Past
Given the fact that Rogue was used as one of the promotional Empire covers ahead of the release of Days Of Future Past, it seemed slightly odd that she was no more than a blink-and-you'd-miss-it cameo. The revelation that she was actually supposed to be part of a key sequence (in which she probably died, given the emotional weight placed on her actual appearance) subsequently felt like a missed opportunity. But inevitably, Fox are releasing a second cut of Singer's sequel tentatively called the Rogue Cut that will restore the prison break sequence on blu-ray in the summer, according to James Finn, on Fox's marketing team: https://twitter.com/FinnJ/status/544334143438327808 Fans can expect a sizeable chunk (10 minutes or so) of new material as writer Simon Kinberg confirmed last year:
Its a big chunk, a substantial part of the movie. We want to give (fans) the fullest picture of the film behind the camera, and in front of it. Every movie has scenes that are cut out, but not every movie has scenes cut out with such a beloved character.
While it might be a completist's purchase, the fact that new special features will be included (it's being released as a companion piece to the primary home release) is a significant draw.
