13 Awesome Movies To Watch This Summer (Which Aren't Blockbusters)
9. Snatched
Release Date: May 12
The Plot: Emily (Amy Schumer) has been recently dumped, and so decides to take a vacation to South America with her mother (Goldie Hawn), but upon arriving, the pair finds themselves kidnapped and forced to plot an escape.
Why It's Going To Be Awesome: If you're not a fan of Amy Schumer's brand of comedy, this looks unlikely to change your mind, but for everyone else, it seems set to be a wild, R-rated blast.
The main appeal here is seeing Schumer paired with Hawn, the latter of whom hasn't appeared in a movie in fifteen years. In addition, their chemistry looks fantastic, it's co-written by Schumer and Katie Dippold (The Heat, Ghostbusters), and is directed by the reliable Jonathan Levine (50/50, The Night Before).
