7. Why Was Thanos Such An Idiot?
Here's a question for you: if Thanos is the MOST POWERFUL ENTITY IN THE GALAXY, as Djimon Hounsou calls him in Guardians Of The Galaxy, why on Earth did he begin his mission to collect all of the Infinity Stones by literally giving the only one he already had in his possession away to a cohort he clearly barely trusted?
In The Avengers, Thanos gives Loki his sceptre as a gift to help with the invasion of New York, somehow missing the fact that the glowing blue bit at the end contained the Mind Stone, which he should have had under lock and key, or which he could have been using to find the other Stones, since it's one of the strongest artefacts in the multiverse.
So what gives? Did he just not know it was there? That doesn't reflect on him very well at all. Or was he banking on Loki succeeding and bringing the sceptre back? Even that shows a stunning lack of awareness for the supposed overlord of the universe. Maybe we'll finally get an answer in Infinity War...?
