13 Biggest Avengers: Infinity War Mysteries

8. Why Scotland?

Hot on the trail of Transformers: The Last Knight filming in Newcastle in the North East of England, it looks like Marvel are heading North too, after it was confirmed that the studio has been scouting in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

That would make the film the largest movie ever made in Scotland, putting Brad Pitt’s World War Z, which had a cast of 1800 and generated £3.3 million for the Scottish economy in the 17 days it was filmed in Glasgow in the shadows.

But why Scotland? Presumably since Thanos isn't attacking the centre of the MCU's universe in New York, there must be a reason. It's not like it's going to be a situation where the Scottish countryside twins for a different planet (as with Surrey twinning a location in Thor: The Dark World), so there has to be a reason for the Avengers to specifically come to a Scottish city.

Maybe Thanos knows the strength in uniting the Northern Clans?
