13 Biggest Mistakes The Batman Movies Ever Made

11. Batman - Batman Killing

Another key quibble that is directly addressed in the Dark Knight trilogy, but brazenly disregarded in the Tim Burton movies, is that while Batman is a vigilante, in the comic books he still follows an ethical code. In short, he doesn't kill people.

1989's Batman, however, sees the Batmobile firing off machine guns and blowing up the Axis Chemicals lab, killing everyone in its path; later, we see Batman throwing one of the Joker's goons down the shaft of the bell tower; and finally, he hooks the Joker up to the stone gargoyle on the rooftop, guaranteeing he'll fall to his death.

Batman Returns follows suit; to name but two instances, we see Batman ramming criminals off the road into a burning building, roasting one alive with a Batmobile flamethrower, and leaving another with dynamite in his pants.

While this matter doesn't cause so much upset as Superman's homicidal actions in Man of Steel did, it is a problem for many Bat-fans; and one that has come back during Ben Affleck's tenure in the role.

This kill count video - made in 2015, i.e. before the release of Batman V Superman - puts Batman's pre-Nolan body count at 45. Not quite Rambo/John Wick numbers, but still...
