13 Disturbing Disney Moments That Ruined Your Childhood

12. Death By Hyena - The Lion King

It might be short, but it definitely isn't sweet. Scar getting his just desserts at the end of The Lion King is memorable for more than the satisfying comeuppance of the most dastardly character in film, but for its brutality as well.

Simba isn't like his uncle and doesn't want to continue the violence of Scar's reign, instead telling him to leave and never return. It's a pretty noble offering for the guy that killed Simba's father and his very own brother in cold blood for the throne, but it isn't good enough for the skeevy lion: who then takes it upon himself to try and kill Simba too.

All of this takes place in a blazing inferno, with Scar falling to his fate at the bottom of a gorge filled with angry hyenas he previously insulted. They then take it upon themselves to tear him apart - but thankfully, we only get to see it in shadow form. It's more than enough.
