13 Dumbest Things In 2018's Summer Movies
4. All The Missing Trailer Footage - Slender Man
Slender Man probably would've been an awful movie even if the original cut of the film had made it to cinemas, but it's still mildly infuriating that Sony buckled to the controversy surrounding the horror film's release, cutting numerous potentially sensitive scenes from the final edit.
With the real-life Slender Man stabbing case derailing the movie's PR, the studio panicked and removed most of the grisly death scenes from the film, along with a seemingly important subplot that's only scarcely hinted at in the theatrical release.
As a result the final product is a shockingly incoherent, toothless mess where characters randomly exit the movie due to their death scenes being cut and little makes much sense at all.
If Sony was really this worried about the backlash, why not just quietly dump the film on VOD in its intended form? It's not like it was a box office success anyway...
