13 Dumbest Things In 2018's Summer Movies
6. Gotti. The Entire Movie.
As atrocious as Truth or Dare was, it certainly wasn't the worst major release of the summer. No, that honour goes to the John Travolta-starring John Gotti biopic Gotti, which still holds a spectacular 0% on Rotten Tomatoes.
This is a drama so horrendously executed it basically ends up feeling like a straight-faced satire funded by The Onion. The cliched dialogue, the crime drama tropes laid out with reckless abandon, Travolta's garish wig and Kevin Connolly's amateur direction add up to the most hilariously inane film of not just the summer but perhaps the entire year.
It's certainly worth watching if you're in the market for a demented curio, but as a serious piece of cinema, Gotti is an exasperating, scarcely believable misfire.
