13 Harry Potter Plot-Holes (That Were Totally Solved)
11. How Was The Horcrux In The Stone Destroyed?
The "Plot-Hole"
Despite the value of the Deathly Hallows and the lengths that had previously been gone to to protect and hide them, the Resurrection Stone is essentially just left in the open when Harry leaves it on the forest floor.
Isn't that just asking for trouble?
The Solution
Rowling's response to this one is a little convenient, but it does make sense, given the nature of the area that the Stone is left in, When asked if someone could simply find the Stone accidentally, she said:
"I imagine that it was squashed into the ground by a centaur's hoof as the centaurs dashed to the aid of the Hogwarts fighters, and thereafter became buried."
