11. Superman Can Time Travel? Let's Never Mention That Ever Again - Superman
Despite what the first Superman movie seems to claim, the Earth is not a video tape that can simply be rewound to replay key events and change them to an outcome you prefer. In one of the most baffling moments of the entire Superman franchise, Superman fails to save Lois Lane from a particularly gruesome death by failing to be swift enough. So naturally, he ignores his father's ringing reminder that he shouldn't interfere with human history and literally turns the world backwards in order to reverse time and save Lois. It's not so much the time turning that is the problem - it's ridiculous yes, but the spectacle works and it reinforces the power and impact of the character - the issue here is that Superman picks up powers at random throughout the film series, and then seems to immediately forget that he ever possessed them. So, instead of simply turning back time whenever something bad happens, Superman just deals with it. The same goes for the infamous magic brain-changing kiss that Kent uses to wipe Lois Lane's memory when he thinks she will live a better life without the knowledge that he is Superman. Somehow, Superman's magical tongue negotiates the complex pathways of her brain and removes only the bit where it turned out he was a flying super-weapon sent to protect Earth. Ludicrous and fanciful of course, but why doesn't Superman ever use this ability again? It's far better than his super-breath, and could allow him to sort out situations without the need for violence or collateral damage. But instead, he keeps it to himself as if it's a dirty secret. And that's not even mentioning the fact that he can somehow remove his chest logo and turn it into an inter-dimensional prison, which would probably come in handy on other occasions in the original series.
