13 Movie Sequels You Didn't Know Came Out In 2018

Remember 2013's Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring action-thriller Escape Plan? Well, they made a straight-to-video sequel...with Dave Bautista replacing Arnie...with less than 40% of the original film's budget. Oof.

Despite the first Escape plan earning almost $140 million worldwide on a $54 million budget, the infamous Summit Entertainment decided to go the cheap-o route with this hilariously perfunctory follow-up.

Furthermore, rather than rein things in given the budgetary constraints, Escape Plan 2: Hades boasts a high-concept, CGI-slathered prison for Stallone and his pals to escape, resulting in some quite hideous visual effects sequences throughout.

The film's enthusiastic stupidity is charming to a point, but ultimately this is an exhausting and pointless experience that nobody really asked for. And despite the film flopping commercially, a third film, Escape Plan 3: Devil's Station has already been filmed and is due for release later this year.
