What is the best sitcom of recent years? If you were to answer that question with 'Community', few who have seen the NBC show would disagree with you. Set in the dysfunctional community college community of Greendale, it thrives on lovable characters and references to anything and everything imaginable. Many of these references come through Danny Pudi's Abed Nadir, a somewhat reserved individual with a pop culture obsession. Often at the centre of the show's absurd-yet-awesome plots in tandem with his heterosexual life partner Troy (Donald Glover), he is perhaps the show's breakout character, and will remain a part of the cast in its new Yahoo iteration following its cancellation by NBC. The directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, were Joe and Anthony Russo, who have helmed a significant number of Community episodes between them. This led to Pudi being given a cameo as a SHIELD staffer.
