13 People You Didn't Know Were In The Marvel Cinematic Universe
8. Kate Mara
Netflix took something of a gamble a couple of years ago when they made the announcement that they were going to make an entire television series, fronted by acting heavyweight Kevin Spacey, and make every episode available for streaming on the same day. The result was the extremely successful House Of Cards, which was co-led by Kate Mara, previously known for bit parts in a handful of films and television series, in the role of journalist Zoe Barnes, who becomes the lover and recipient of information from Spacey's devious politician Frank Underwood. Zoe's demise in the first episode of the show's second season, at Frank's hand, was one of the television shocks of the year, but it has freed Mara to move on to a lead role in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, where she will inherit Jessica Alba's mantle as Sue Storm. Though a Marvel comic, the Fantastic Four film rights are not owned by Marvel Studios, meaning that Mara and her co-stars will not be appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe any time soon. Said universe is one she has appeared in previously, however, as she portrayed a US Marshal in 2010's Iron Man 2.
