All 13 Pixar Theatrical Shorts: Ranked From Worst To Best

5. Day And Night (2010)

Day And Night Unlike anything that Pixar has produced before, this rather clever and charming short combines both 2D and 3D animation. As day and night show each other things from their own perspective, a beautiful and enlightening friendship is formed. You just couldn't help but grin along to this sweet short as Pixar pushed their boundaries yet again. The short is a treasure trove for Easter Egg hunters: the lighthouse featured is, in fact, the same lighthouse from Finding Nemo in the Sydney harbour. The voice in the radio broadcast is from a lecture in the 1970s by Dr. Wayne Dyer, a motivational speaker and author. The director, Teddy Newton, wanted to use ideas from this lecture to show that the unknown isn't always to be feared and can indeed be enlightening.
