13 Terrible Quotes From Otherwise Awesome Movies

4. "Oh God! Oh God! Oh!" - Se7en

David Fincher's Se7en is one of the most gut-wrenching thrillers of the 1990s, and no scene is more disturbing than the finale, in which Detective Mills (Brad Pitt) finds out that John Doe (Kevin Spacey) has murdered his pregnant wife (Gwyneth Paltrow), cut off her head and placed it in a box. As Doe taunts Mills and Detective Somerset (Morgan Freeman) tries to prevent him from killing Doe (as would allow Doe to "win" by completing the ritual of the seven deadly sins), Mills recoils in horror and anguish as he tries to make sense of what's happened. This is Pitt's big scene in the movie, and there's a lot of debate about whether it's truly Pitt's performance or the script that makes it sound so unintentionally comical. His whiny screams of "What's in the box?" are bad enough, but the worst comes later, as he cries, "Oh god! Oh god! Oh!". We can't know for sure how much of that was scripted and how much was simply ad-libbed by Pitt, but whatever the cause, it makes for a horrible, horrible moment in an otherwise outstanding scene.
