The production incorporated a Louma crane, which gave Miner the ability to achieve elevated camera angles from unusual perspectives without having to have scaffolding erected to get the same shot.

It was not the easiest of set-ups to work with - George Michael Brown, the tech supervising the crane wore a t-shirt reading I HATE THE LOUMA CRANE, a point of view that many in the crew sympathised with.

On one occasion, the Louma crane and fifteen to twenty feet of track collapsed, nearly killing someone: the entire track had to be rebuilt, and the camera was damaged.

Not only that, but bizarrely, a swarm of bees infested the farmhouse set, requiring production to be shut down for two days while professionals came in and cleared the cabin of insects.
