13 Upcoming Movies That Are Already Doomed (And Why)
3. Maze Runner: The Death Cure
Release Date: January 12, 2018
Why It's Doomed: Here's the first movie on this list which might actually be literally cursed. After the previous Maze Runner movie, The Scorch Trials, became embroiled in controversy for the cast apparently stealing Native American artifacts from a shooting location (which Fox later investigated and found no evidence of), lead actor Dylan O'Brien was injured in an on-set accident just five days into shooting the new film.
Filming is scheduled to resume imminently, but considering that the film was originally planned to release on February 17, 2017, the year delay could severely hurt the film's box office interest considering the fickle nature of Young Adult audiences.
The first two movies released within a year of one another, but the third film won't hit cinemas until over two years after the last one.
Then there's the fact that even these movies made under the most ideal of circumstances aren't exactly great, so one that's been stopped and re-started could easily end up with a stressed, unenthusiastic cast and crew, which never helps.
