Why It's Doomed: There are so many things wrong with this movie existing, but namely Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book scoring almost $1 billion at the box office last year and effectively stealing all of its thunder, and the title being changed from Jungle Book: Origins to just Jungle Book.
Despite Andy Serkis directing and playing Baloo alongside an insane cast including Christian Bale, Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Naomie Harris and many more, it's most likely going to be too little, too late, and it's hard to imagine that this can offer up a unique enough perspective to get people interested after everyone lapped up Favreau's movie last year.
Plus, with Favreau looking to release The Second Jungle Book in 2019, there's not really much room for Serkis' film to carve out a safe space for itself.
