14 Cameos In Huge Movies You Probably Missed

Edgar Wright's movies are typically full of hidden visual gags and cameos, and Hot Fuzz features arguably two of his best and most cleverly concealed ones.

Firstly, Cate Blanchett appears as the forensic investigator Janine, and while Wright gives us several close-ups on her eyes and actually has her speak quite a few lines, she's always wearing a surgical mask over the lower half of her face, which makes her hard to place. You'll kick yourself for not noticing it sooner, though.

There's also a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cutaway to Simon Pegg's character getting stabbed through the hand by a demented Father Christmas, and if you're quick enough, you'll see that the sadistic Santa is played by none other than Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson.
