4. The Green Lantern Corps Casting Short-List

The Rumour

The Wrap's resident comic book movie tipster El Mayimbe recently leaked a shortlist, which says was confirmed by two sources at Warner Bros., detailing who the studio want to approach to play Hal Jordan in 2020's Green Lantern Corps.

The hallowed six are as follows: Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise, Jake Gyllenhaal, Armie Hammer, Joel McHale and Ryan Reynolds. Yep, the very same one.

Response

Armie Hammer has since denied he's involved (but then he would, wouldn't he?), but he's definitely an interesting pick, given that he wass cast as Batman for George Miller's scrapped Justice League Immortal. To be fair, they're all pretty great names (though Ryan Reynolds SURELY can't be in the running seriously).

For my money, Jake Gyllenhaal deserves a superhero movie after his great recent track record, and he'd be the most interesting of all the options, if there's any truth to this.
