What can we say about this regrettable misfire that hasn’t already been said—that they should have stuck with the original uncanny valley Sonic design, or at least admitted that the CGI was the least of their worries?
That poor Jim Carrey didn’t
put his heart and soul into The Truman Show, The Majestic, and Eternal Sunshine
of the Spotless Mind only to become an even cornier version of his tired, overused
and outdated late nineties schtick?
That this series of smug in-jokes and blaringly loud chases could have done with a coherent plot and clever characterisation?
That we’re mostly just annoyed that the existence of this flick means we have to admit Detective Pikachu wasn’t bad at all in comparison?
