3. Badly Behaved Children
We've all been in screenings with young children in them, and with the 12A certificate it's an increasingly common occurrence. But sometimes parents don't tell their children that the cinema has different rules to their living room. As a result you get children screaming, running around and talking all the time, which makes it hellish for the rest of us. Parents, if you're bringing your children to watch films, please consult them first as to whether they will be able to last the full length of the film in question. If they get bored and uncomfortable, it's bad for all of us.
2. The Projector Breaking
If you've somehow managed to withstand or avoid all this, the film still might not work. With most cinema chains going digital and slashing their projection staff, sometimes there's no-one back there to keep an eye on the film. So if the picture starts going off the screen, the sound cuts out or the hard drive in question is corrupted, there'll be nothing you can do but sit in the dark until someone fixes it. And don't even think about getting your money back: at best you'll get a free drink as you leave, and who wants that?
