15 Actors Who Desperately Need A Hit
12. Adrien Brody
Talking of talented, Adrien Brody won the Academy Award for Best Actor for 2002's The Pianist, but hasn't been able to translate that into much box office success since.
His only hits haven't been sold on him in the slightest: two Chinese movies where he was a novelty attraction, two Wes Anderson movies, one a-piece from Woody Allen and M. Night Shyamalan, as well as tentpoles Predators and King Kong. In every instance, there's someone or something that overshadows him and ensures that nobody's paying their ticket money for him, and certainly not him alone.
Brody's mostly been hanging back in the indie scene for the last few years, barring a few legitimate embarrassments like InAPPropriate Comedy, and it seems to suit him just fine. Still, it'd be nice to see him emerge back out of obscurity considering that he's appeared in just two major productions over the last five years (Midnight in Paris and The Grand Budapest Hotel).
