Undefeated UFC Woman's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey has been campaigning hard for the upcoming part of Captain Marvel for quite some time now. The mixed martial artist turned actress went public with her desire to take on the role of Carol Danvers, hoping to force herself into contention for the highly sought after part in Marvel's Cinematic Universe.

She is currently starring opposite Mark Wahlberg in 22 Mile, though she is already thinking way ahead of that:

"I€™m really looking forward to doing my first starring role opposite Mark Wahlberg. Hopefully by the time Captain Marvel comes around, I will have enough experience and skills in the field for them to really seriously consider me."

Despite her willingness to bring up her credentials at any give opportunity, Marvel seem thus far unmoved by her personal campaign. While the MCU top brass are keen to reiterate that they pick the right person for the part, not simply the biggest names interested, Rousey's limited film experience looks to have been a stumbling block for the 28-year-old athlete. Still, time is on her side, and as long as she keeps mentioning her willingness to be taken under consideration and sharing the fan-art she receives on a regular basis, she could be a dark horse for the part.
