15 Alternative Superhero And Comic Book Movies You Must See

4. Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)

Not strictly a superhero movie but it does concern the making of a superhero movie, so in our book, that counts.

Jay and Silent Bob discover that a Bluntman and Chronic movie is being adapted from the comic book series based on their likenesses. There's just one problem though, they've not been paid! In an effort to stop the movie from being made and to get the recognition (and money) that they deserve, they hit the road and make their way to Hollywood.

On the way, they of course, end up in a tonne of ridiculous situations ranging from Scooby Doo and Star Wars parodies to becoming involved with diamond thieves masquerading as animal rights activists.

Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back is stupid, puerile and complete nonsense but it's Kevin Smith at his ridiculous best. Jason Mews' performance, in particular, holds everything together and there are loads of fantastic cameos as diverse as Mark Hamill, George Carlin and James Van Der Beek.

Don't take it too seriously and you'll have a wonderful time.
