15 Alternative Superhero And Comic Book Movies You Must See

1. The Extraordinary Adventures Of Adèle Blanc-Sec (2010)

A loose adaption of the comic book of the same name The Extraordinary Adventures Of Adèle Blanc-Sec is a supernatural, fantasy adventure that plays out something like a cross between The Mummy, Indiana Jones and Tintin. Luc Besson (The Fifth Element) directs so, as you might expect, it's a vibrant and colourful film.

Adel Blanc-Sec is a globetrotting journalist and travel writer who ends up embroiled in an exciting adventure story involving a mummy, a pterosaur and an evil Professor. It's a charming tale blending action, history, archaeology, mystery and the supernatural.

Fans of old-school serial stories covering mysterious ancient technologies, swashbuckling adventurers and intrepid intellectuals will have an absolute blast with this one and everyone else should enjoy the excellent performances, fun action sequences, stylish visuals and intriguing story.

There might not be a superhero in sight but The Extraordinary Adventures makes a fantastic transition from comic book to feature film.
