7. Robin
Terrible character, terrible movie, but undoubtedly a kick-ass hero. First appearing in Batman Forever, Robin (Dick Grayson) was a circus acrobat who was taken in by Bruce Wayne after Two-Face murdered his parents and brother at a circus event. Bruce is reminded of the experience he had when his parents were murdered when he sees the same vengeance in Dick, so he empathises with him and decides to take him in as his ward. Eventually discovering the Batcave, Dick learns Bruce's secret identity and, in his wake, he becomes Batman's crime fighting partner, Robin, and helps Batman to defeat Two-Face (getting his vengeance) and The Riddler. In Batman and Robin, he began to chafe against Batman's authority and was something of a love rival of his when it came to the villainous Poison Ivy, but he would ultimately help in the fight against Bane and Mr. Freeze. By no means as good a fighter as Batman, Robin was still a very competent combatant, utilising skills learned as a circus acrobat to be an agile martial artist.
