Which movie? Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince Where would it be in film? After Dumbledore's death. What happens? Following the series-defining death of the mentor, there's a heart-breaking montage of the main characters reacting to the news, all scored to a song sung by the Hogwarts' choir. Of particular note is a slow pan of Snape, with his torn face furthering the mystery of his true allegiance. Should it have been cut? Whether this would replace the wizard concert-lighter-waving or come after it is unclear, but it certainly adds to the emotion of Dumbledore's death, giving audiences time to let it sink in. Nicely, this is one case where a scene's inclusion would have really helped non-fans get involved as well - thanks to some some nice cinematography and a great score, it gets the emotion across regardless of how in-depth you know the characters. There were numerous musical moments shot for the films that were subsequently cut, probably because they jarred with the tone, but here's one that would have actively improved it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dB1yNFFYEig
