Indiana Jones is one of the most beloved movie franchises of all-time - a tour-de-force of adventure cinema, starring one of the best and most iconic characters ever. Indy has captured the world's imagination through a series of films built from brilliant set-pieces, mystical artefacts, delicious villains, and beautiful women - not to forget the Nazis. The first three Indy movies - less about the fourth the better, right? - are held in high regard by the fans; even the most controversial chapter, Indiana Jones And The Temple of Doom (which received mixed reviews back in the day), is now thought to be an '80s classic. But occasionally there are sudden, unexpected lapses of logic in Steven Spielberg's films; sections that feel incomplete - moments that can only mean one thing: deleted scenes. Yes, there are lots of moments scattered throughout the Indiana Jones trilogy that feel almost like they've been cut down, or that information hasn't been properly conveyed - like a small section of the film was removed to save time. In a lot of cases, that's exactly what happened. In other scenarios, scenes were changed on the day of shooting, or were removed entirely to improve the pace of the picture (or because they just didn't work).
