15 Awesome Indiana Jones Deleted Scenes

6. On Board The Flight To Venice - Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade

Here's a deleted scene that was deemed unnecessary, but one that offered up a neat bit of plot... and some always welcomed bonding between Indy and his pal Marcus Brody. The scene in question takes place on board the flight to Venice. Indy and Marcus can be seen sitting across from one another, studying Henry Jones Sr.'s Grail Diary. At this point, audiences would have been able to briefly glimpse a stained-glass window complete with Roman numerals on one of the pages - a direct foreshadowing of the upcoming scene in which Indy and Marcus discover the secret passageway in the Venice library. Whilst there's no actual footage of the whole scene available, we know that it was shot because of various production stills - one of which you can view above. Parts of the scene were also superimposed over the map montage sequence in the final cut of the movie, which depicts Indy's flight from the United States to Italy using that iconic red line.
