7. The Hobbit

The immediate scenes you think of being cut from An Unexpected Journey are those that were removed when two films became three. But aside from these development heavy moments, there€'re some parts of the first Hobbit that were just cut completely. Peter Jackson put a lot of effort into tying The Hobbit into The Lord Of The Rings (more, some would say, than in making it entertaining in its own right), but clearly even he has a limit.

One of the teaser trailer€'s most, well, teasing shots was Bilbo seeing the broken Narsil, one of the original trilogy's more important objects. In the film, the scene was nowhere to be seen; the dwarves arrived in Rivendell, spent the night, then left without Bilbo going near the inner halls. Curious.
