15 Awesome Scenes From Trailers That Were Stupidly Cut From The Film
5. Titanic
Not only did the trailer for Titanic show scenes that didn't make it into James Cameron's epic adaptation of mass tragedy, but the film itself heavily hinted at them to. When the ship splits in half (ermspoiler) we see the grumpy Lovejoy at the seam, bleeding from the head with an incredibly small chance of surviving. His battered exterior comes from a scene just after Cal goes psycho and tries to kill the woman he "loves".
Sending Lovejoy after them, it's tonally out of kilter with the sheer emotion of Rose jumping out of the lifeboat we've had moments before; Jack beats up the man servant, destroying the deadly serenity of the flooded dining room. It's totally out of character by Jack, someone who by this point we have to be idolising as much as Rose, but it did add some needed non-sinking action to the trailer. Which, incidentally, ruins every major plot beat (and not just the sinking).
