15 Awesome Scenes From Trailers That Were Stupidly Cut From The Film
13. Batman Forever
There's an unwritten rule in Batman movies that an interesting supporting character has to be recast before their role gets meaty. Katie Holmes gave way to Maggie Gylenhall, a love interest damsel not to be saved from distress, and Billy Dee Williams lost the chance to claim a second iconic role when Warner Bros. didn't want a black Two-Face and went with the also multiple-named Tommy Lee Jones.
Not to throw audiences in the deep end, Warner deftly used the trailers to reintroduce us to a Harvey Dent that had inexplicably changed race and suddenly developed a bad case of eczema, providing multiple opportunities to set up the new character's ticks . And yes, you guessed it, one of these doesn't appear in the film. The moment in the trailer when Dent goes "if the Bat wants to play, we'll play", a line that does further blur Dent and the Joker (a big problem in that film), is conspicuously absent from the final cut.
