15 Awful Endings That Ruined Potentially Great Films

4. Gravity (2013)

Compared to Interstellar, Gravity was a far inferior film in space. Alfonso Cuaron€™s film became the most overrated film of 2013, picking up numerous accolades and a lot of money. There were a number of dumb moments throughout, and a lot of repetition of threats from flying debris that ruined the concept. Gravity was a very original film. The way it was filmed marked some huge leaps forward for film-kind. An entirely new method of filming and capturing the story was devised, perhaps at the expense of the overall story. But the viewing experience proved that 3D does have a purpose, and can make cinema more thrilling, so long as Hollywood is not just using it as a gimmick to sell more tickets. The Ending That Ruined The Film The third time around for the debris cloud simply represented a lack of original creative ideas to ramp up the sense of danger in space. Having found her way to the Tiangong space station, debris starts to rip it apart forcing Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) to hurry earthwards. The recurrent threat of being hit by this ever-growing cloud of debris, as well as other elements like the atmosphere forcing craft to break up feels like a single note sounded throughout the film and is a disappointing repeated element that forces us to the ending as well.
