15 Best Performances In The DCEU (So Far)
1. Ewan McGregor - Roman Sionis
Much like actors such as Woody Harrelson, Hugh Grant and Michael Keaton (who will soon be joining the DCEU as Batman), Ewan McGregor is one of those actors who's just getting better and better with age.
He's had a string of great turns in things like Fargo and Doctor Sleep in recent years, but this villainous role is something else. It's a truly brilliant performance and arguably McGregor's best since Trainspotting.
As Roman Sionis, the eccentric and psychopathic crime lord who serves as Birds of Prey's big bad, McGregor is both deliciously entertaining and genuinely terrifying to watch. A villain who both entertains and frightens you witless is a hard thing to pull off, but McGregor makes it look easy and provides a genuine masterclass in villainous acting.
It's also great to see that he has mastered an American accent after all those bad attempts at one earlier in his career, such as in The Island (2005). All in all, this is a borderline flawless performance and easily the DCEU's greatest acting turn to date.
