13. Asher Angel - Billy Batson

Zachary Levi did a very fine job playing Shazam, Billy Batson's superhero alter-ego, but impressively it was the younger actor who did the better work as Shazam's protagonist.

Asher Angel gave a very touching and sympathetic performance as the troubled foster kid and a lot of the film's unexpected poignancy was down to him. It seems like a foregone conclusion he'll smash it once again in the film's upcoming sequel.

In terms of Angel's finest moment in the film, it's definitely the scene where he is finally reunited with his mother and discovers that she deliberately abandoned him. It's a very tough scene to watch thanks to how powerful Angel's acting is.
