15 Best Pieces Of Movie Music From 2018

14. "Michael Kills Again" - Halloween (John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter & Daniel Davies)

Halloween Michael Myers

Halloween fans were eager to see what a returning John Carpenter would bring to the score for the new Halloween sequel, and while collaborating with his son Cody and Daniel Davies, delivered one of the most visceral horror scores of the year.

The intensity and impact is no better felt than in "Michael Kills Again", which is heard in the movie when Michael Myers butchers two hapless podcasters in a dingy motel bathroom.

The slow-build, the heartbeat-like pulse, the anxiety-inducing tick, the scuzzy guitar work and more typically Halloween-like keyboard work all combines to make this the most harrowingly brutal scene in the entire film.

Carpenter's still got it, baby.
