Still, as great as A New Hope is, it's not the best film in the Star Wars Saga. That title definitely goes to the follow-up, a sequel so brilliant that most other sequels made since have tried to copy it in one way or another.
Empire retains the glorious entertainment, endless hilarity and amazing spectacle of the first film but imbues it with fantastic cliff-hangers, powerful character-driven drama and dark emotional material, making this pretty much the perfect follow-up to A New Hope.
